How to take your smile photos
Good photos give Dr. Kim the clearest picture of your smile. Here's what we're looking for.
Front, lips relaxed
Face the camera straight on, lips together but relaxed — not forced into a smile.
Front, smiling
Natural smile showing your teeth. Good lighting, no shadows across your face.
Right profile, lips relaxed
Turn fully to your right. Keep lips together, chin level.
Left profile, lips relaxed
Same as above, turned to your left.
Front, mouth open wide
Face the camera, open your mouth as wide as comfortably possible.
Right side, teeth together
Retract your cheek slightly to show your side teeth biting together.
Left side, teeth together
Same as above on your left side.
Top teeth (occlusal)
Tilt your head back and photograph your upper teeth from below. A mirror can help.

The virtual consultation is designed for patients who want to explore their options before making the drive in, whether you're coming from Wilmette, Skokie, Glenview, Lincolnwood, Winnetka, Glencoe, Northbrook, Kenilworth, or Chicago's Rogers Park and Andersonville neighborhoods.
Once Dr. Kim has reviewed your photos, she'll let you know whether an in-person visit makes sense and what to expect when you come in. For many patients, the virtual review is all they need to feel confident about taking the next step.
