# Pediatric Orthodontics in Evanston, IL (Phase 1 & Age 7 Screening)

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends all children visit an orthodontic specialist by age 7. At this age, permanent first molars and front incisors have begun erupting, allowing Dr. Kim to identify subtle skeletal, crossbite, and airway concerns before they become severe.

## Why Age 7?
- Intercepts crossbites preventing jaw asymmetries
- Creates space for crowded erupting teeth, preventing impactions
- Eliminates the need for permanent tooth extractions in many cases
- Evaluates airway health, mouth breathing, and speech habits

Most 7-year-olds do **not** need immediate treatment! If treatment is not needed yet, your child enters our complimentary Observation Club with periodic check-ins at zero charge.
